Aloha Friday #8

On Friday, lazy bloggers take advantage of Hawaii's tradition of taking it easy on Friday! At least that is what I do! For more on Aloha Friday, visit An Island Life.

I am going to ask a question for you to answer, here goes:

HAVE YOU EVER LOVED SOMEONE THAT DID NOT REALIZE THAT YOU HAD FEELINGS FOR THEM, OR KNEW, BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE SAME FEELINGS TOWARD YOU?

Yes is my answer! She was my best friend, and we spent alot of time together, but she did not look at me that way. I was a little young, in her eyes, and I reminded her of her deceased brother. That was a bad combo!

Yep... I have assumed male friends are not really friends. Guys seem to always be hoping for a little something. And... usually they eventually get the courage to ask.

You reminded her of her dead brother? Egads.

I think everyone has lived with unrequited love at one point in their lives.

Yes. A Boy I hung out with all the time I really got feelings for, but, I really don't know how he felt. I was 7 years older than him and he had mention he never wanted to be with an older woman.

No! I'm horrible at hiding my feelings. I'd rather just get it off my chest and then deal with the consequences if there are any.

Don't think so. I hope.

Yep, some guy in my karate class when I was in my 20's. When we'd practice take-downs, I'd deliberately try to get in compromising, pretzel positions with him. Didn't work. He probably knew I was trouble.

No -- I don't think so.

Not that I recall. I have however been with DH for 20 years, so my memory is cloudy.

Unh, huh. When I was a nanny in NY there was a guy in my church who was a MP @ West Point. We worked together on several committees & I adored him. Luckily he didn't feel the same & about 6 yrs later I met the love of my life.

Yes, I loved him - for all the wrong reasons & ultimately I'm glad he realized it and rejected me!

As an adult... I try to steer the conversation away from the person asking. I had another teacher ask in the fall ... I had made the mistake of making a quick hamburg run with him. We don't talk much anymore:-( I should have known better than get in that car.

You should ask if they are not married!!! Go for it. Your pics were great and your obviously smart. I am going to try aloha friday with you next week. I have my question ready!!!
