Argh! They set fire to Hazel. I liked all of it except that part. I must be an empath. ;o)

Otin - you are a wonder. I had visions of "The Pointless Forest" and also of Calvin's dad (of "Calvin and Hobbes") telling whoppers.

Way entertaining.

Loved that the dad turned into a lizard at the end...

Cute story..

otin said...

Angel May- I do realize that the burning part would be a bit intense for children! :)

LMB- The dad was not the lizard!

Maybe it was a Lootik or just a little boy's imagination!

After reading a couple of my kid's books like Raven's Gate and Harry Potter. Your story is no worse than the current stories that they read.

Very good!! I love how you weaved all of halloween into one story of love among all people. Very cool that they pumpkin people just had put pumpkins on their heads.

Imaginative story and you wove all your parts together in such a clever way. This would make a terrific book. Have you read "Wicked" or any of that author's books?

Alicia @ boylerpf said...

Bravo, Bravo (as I stand at my computer clapping!) I always wondered where the candy came from ;) What an imagination...my kids would have been enthralled with this...and slept in my bed till the sun rose!

Heidi said...

That was scary! Poor little girl getting burned at the stake and all.
I thought I was already a follower. Now I know why you weren't showing up in my reader. LOL. Just a little slow, I am.

The Silver Fox said...

Poor Roy. He got it all wrong, then?

I trusted you; I gathered the neighborhood kids around me and read from my PC monitor. At the "their friend was burned alive, her skin melting" part, their parents all whisked them away. Thanks a lot.

And thanks for a great story, seriously. The one week I do a brief post, and you do this. Talk about a balance of nature...!

Just came back to make sure that I commented after reading. I really need to stop commenting while under the influence of muscle relaxers. Anyway, I see that I did. Just wanted to add that your creativity amazes me. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Knucklehead said...

Dude, with just a little bit of polishing up and an illustrator, you have a great children's book here. I'm serious, you should look into it.

Baino said...

I can't imagine how long that took for a two-fingered typist but well worth the wait. Sorry I'm so late! Have a great weekend and fun in New York!
