As I Walk Out the Door

As I walk out the door
I will never look back
I shall go straight ahead
And forge a new track

Tears will be shed
As I do depart
I am labeled as cruel
A man with no heart

But that is not true
I know in my mind
Some people abuse
The one who is kind

If I shed tears
They would surely be fake
How long can you give
While others just take

So a new day begins
At age forty four
My future is bright
As I walk out the door.

You've got to be true to yourself. And decisions based on truth are never wrong. Well put!

Hi buddy:
You're the healthiest man I know, so if your heart says it's time to walk out that door...just keep on and don't look back!

Gonna spend some time catchin' up around here. Thank you so much for your love and support. Your future is very bright!

Great rhymes, but now you have me wondering what's going on. Did I miss something along the way? Did I not see some post about something going on?

You are the only one who puts your head on your pillow at night. I will trust that the Universe will open the doors you need open and guide you in closing the ones that need to be closed.

namaste and hugs for you...

Since you and I are so close, obviously I knew about this, and I know that you're not sad, you're happy. :) You expressed it so beautifully through your words today. I want nothing more than happiness for you!!

You have been going through something lately and if this is the outcome, then I hope you come out on the other side whole, intact, fairly sane, and ready to move on. I don't know you very well, but hubby and I have grown fond of you and truly wish you the best life ever. Starting again at age 44 is better than starting again at age 64. Hugs to you.

I don't remember who said this, "Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action."

Hi Otin and nice to meet you. I'm assuming I've met you a good time in your life, at least from what I read. Either way, it sounds like you are very well loved.

I, for one, appreciate your kindness in stopping over and leaving your comment. Maybe it is time to write your masterpiece, eh?

Lori said...

(((((Otin))))) Reading this actually brought tears to my eyes. I'm sorry if you have been hurt and if you haven't been happy and living true to who you are, and in doing so have lived not being treated like you so deserve, then walking out the door is a good thing. Here's to new beginnings. You have a giant kind heart and your writing is fabulous and is surely to lead to something way bigger then this blog. XX Lori

PS Thank you for taking the time to show you care. :)

I just loved the this poem, and I have a feeling that this is something good! A good change in your life, maybe? A new direction to take?
Whatever it is, is for the best. Things just get stagnant if you stay still for too long, so you have to keep moving. Do what your heart and head tell you to do.
Happy Birthday!

Oh Otin. Had a feeling. As long as you're sure. As long as you're happy. As long as you're not going to get ripped off in the process ...as long as it helps you sleep at night and opens up new opportunities, which I know it will.
Sometimes you just have to make the tough decisions and do something for yourself.

Brian is right. This could be a song.

The line about you being labeled cruel was a great line. It reminds me of the vast difference and interpretation that men and women have over the same situation.

Feel better man.

Walking away is not always cruel. It can be the kindest thing you do, especially if you know this is not where you are meant to be.

I think romance novels and soap operas have so many thinking that love is black and white. If you break it off with someone, then you must be weak or have some character flaw.

Even in regards to relationships that are not romantic, there are times when walking away is wise and not quitting.

Be true to yourself. Be honest with those around you. Know that moving on can be the best thing for everybody involved.

Follow your heart, Lisa

Or maybe I'm just interpreting it wrong...

Wow! I'm 44 and I don't think I want to walk out a door and start over. However, I'm happy, so it's not a thought. Just wanted to let you know I feel for you.

Just had to tell you I sent my husband some of your stories and he couldn't read them because his office labeled your site pornographic.

I showed him the body work on the sidebar, which we think are tastefully done.

I have a feeling this is about the relationship you were in, if it was really considered a relationship. You didn't seem too happy in it. Anyway, hope you have happier days ahead!
