Are you SURE you're an atheist, Otin? Talk about a story of spiritual renewal and redemption....
Beautiful!

One of your best. I got goosebumps and thought you were writing about a real person for awhile before I remembered what you do!

Whoa.

Where art thou, husband?

Otin... I love this story! I saw the snow angel a mile away and hoped it would be true. And aren't you the snazzy little Atheist writing about God's plan.

So sorry I've been MIA in blogland for so long. Been doing a bit of hibernating and traveling. Need to get back on the program. I've actually missed you honey.

I knew somehow he would leave a Snow Angel for her! Nicely done, Otie - goosebump inducing to the max! :)

Dang! Get me a shovel today, Otin. That was deep.

Otin, you remind me a lot of myself. Often times my writing is consumed by similar themes. *laugh* I'm sure you've heard that line before. Really, though...Great piece. In our anger we do take a lot out on others because we can't see past our own pain.

Somehow I knew there would be a positive side to this story. A snow angel was the perfect thing.

Awww sweetie, this is really a beautiful story. She's coming to life again! Just as she's having a spiritual awakening, I know you are too. :) God does have a plan.

I love you with all my heart!

otin said...

blueviolet- As long as his plan involves both of us together, then I am on board! I love you more each day!

Kinda going along with CatLadyLarew here, otin...and for a minute I thought this was a conituation from another story...

But I can well relate to this...and the memory it triggered wasn't good at all :^(

You are an atheist? Interesting, interesting story given that alleged fact.

A very uplifting story.

Stories of redemption are always welcome to me, and I really liked this one.

Aw, darn it. You made me cry. I have makeup on for the 1st time in DAYS and now my mascara is running. Darn you, Otin.

Beautiful story, btw. God does, indeed, speak to us in a myriad of ways. My brother passed away in 1981. His favorite flower were yellow roses. One day, my mom who was still very brokenhearted over the loss of her son stepped outside. There, on the doorstep was a single yellow rose.

When someone close to you dies, there are always 'familiars' for me it was birds, appearing in the oddest places, an owl on the lamp post, a normally unseen parrot but it's all in the imagination. Death sharpens our senses and imagination. Sweet story but a mother never recovers from the death of a child. Never.

This is more than a sweet story. You have added the dimension of spiritual connection and husband/wife reawakening. I like the way you left it, we don't know if they got back together but we know healing has begun. I really like this one.

I have the biggest lump in my throat, then as I scroll down the page to comment a "Jersey Baby" flips me off. You are yin and yang.

What a wonderful story. So touching.

I've known way too many children who've been touched by cancer, including my son. We are one of the fortunate ones.

Ronda Laveen said...

Sounds like part of this is from personal experience. The death of a child is hard on a relationship and you told it perfectly. You have quite a spiritual side.
