As bloggers, we all share similar habits and trends. We go through phases where our blogs are really important to us and then we tend to burn out after a while.
I was actually going to delete my site this evening because I have totally lost interest.
I love to write, but face it, the blogosphere will never take a writer anywhere outside of a few hundred people.
This started as a hobby, then became an obsession. Great things came from my blog (I think you know that by now), but it is time for me to put things in perspective.
I am going to leave my blog up and still may post from time to time. I will be around here and there, but basically I am taking a step away from this world.
I have met great people here, and that is why I did not delete. I still want to be able to keep in touch.

Oh, Otin..you have to do what you have to do, but it will be such a loss to your blog readers.
Please consider doing some writing maybe quarterly on here? If you can't bring yourself to do so, then I wish you the best and hope your writing career skyrockets in another arena.

I totally understand! I have really backed off from the blogging world. It became too much of an obsession for me and I had to put things in perspective.

I definitely sympathize with the cooling off and stepping back! I've come around to the view that the only good reason for me to write is to practice writing.

At least I'll still be able to go back through your archives when I'm jonesin for an Otin tale :) I wish you and my (and your) sweet BV the very best future ever & when you write a book, I want a copy! Sometime last year, you said that you hate when people delete their blog. I don't remember if it was a comment you left for someone who was thinking about it or if it was your own post. So you know how everyone would feel if you went poof.
I've noticed that your post frequency has slowed down. I've been through it too. And I understand. You need to do what is right for you. I'm happy to see that you'll at least keep the wizard around. Stay in touch my good friend.

Everything in life has it's season and this part of your life served a very important purpose...there is absolutley no doubting that.
Our priorities change as we move through life & I've learned that that is quite OK.
I am pleased though that you didn't just disappear.

You are a wise man to keep real life in perspective. You have a loving relationship and lots more going in your life than you did when you began blogging. I have watched my hubby be addicted to blogging for a couple years, then he deleted that blog and he hasn't really blogged much since the first blog. He has had several blogs here and there but not like the first one. For me, I enjoy blogging and reading other blogs but it is not a requirement to my happiness. It would be fun to read a story you write occasionally and hear how you are doing if that is what you choose to do. If the interest isn't there, you can't write a post.

I wondered how long it would be before you bid the blogging world adieu.....
As you know, I signed off earlier this year and frankly, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I still read a select few blogs, I don't really comment alot, but still peruse the blogs I follow.
Wishing all the happiness in the world for you. YOu really are a talented story teller, do not let that go to waste....find another outlet for that talent, it might launch you into the stratosphere!
